Intercult, Stockholm/Sweden, Atelje 212, Belgrad/Serbia and Montenegro and theatre director Aleksandar Popovski have finally realized their long-announced cooperation.
Popovski is currently rehearsing the performance entitled “Alice ”, according to the text of Biljana Srbljanovic, and motives from Alice in wonderland by Louis Carroll.
In co-production with Swedish producers house “Intercult”, “Alice” will preform in Stockholm in a Swedish/Serbian version by the end of January, while the Belgrade public will witness the premiere on October 14.
The Swedish cast includes Etienne Glaser and Malin Alm together with actors from Ateljer 212. The Belgrad cast includes renowned names of the Belgrade theatre stage, such as Petar Bozovic and Milica Mihajlovic. In regard to the team backstage, it includes Angelina Atlagic as costume designer, and Kiril Dzajkovski as music author, while Valentino Turko from Slovenia is the choreographer.
This is Popovski’s second collaboration with “Atelier 212” after the one in 2000, when he set Coltez’s text “Roberto Zuko”. The performance, which includes Sergej Trifunovic, Jasna Gjuric, Vojin Cektovic, Katarina Zutic, Vesna Pecanac etc, is still seen as one of the cult performances of this eminent theatre house.
