A Visiting Arts funded project. A two year programme of exhibitions, workshops and educational events featuring the work of a range of artists from Zimbabwe and Nigeria whose work had rarely or never been shown in the UK. The 2002 programme included a group show including George Mubayi, Elvis Mamvura, Gerald Takawira and Roymend Chirambandari from Chapungu Scultpure Park and Queenie Sango from Tengenenge Sculptors Community. Presented at AfricArt, the annual festival in Brighton, Eastbourne College of Art & Technology, the Crypt Gallery, Seaford, and University College Chichester. There was also a wide ranging educational programme including workshops by the visiting artists for the general public at the exhibition venues and higher education colleges as well as community venues. Free demonstrations and workshops accompanied by a small display of sculpture at the Natural History Museums Wildlife Garden (London) was also arranged.
