Everyday poetry from Toulouse: Two voices and a tambourine is all Claude Sicre and Jean-Marc Enjalbert need to entertain their audience and confront them with their often radical opinions. They sing in French, Arabic and Occitan, advocating a radical democratic and radical pluralistic society. In doing this, they adopt an antagonistic position to the centralistic music world of France. “We are using rap, but we are not rappers”, Claude Sicre has stated. “We are playing music from Brazil, but we don’t do world music. We sing in French, but we don’t do Chansons Françaises. We are total mavericks.
