Maysam Makhmalbaf


Maysam Makhmalbaf is Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s son, and was born 1981 in Tehran. At 13, he left school to attend the Makhmalbaf Film School along with his sisters, Samira and Hana. He works primarily as a cameraman, editor and photographer. In 2000, he directed “How Samira Made the Blackboard”, his first documentary, describing how his sister Samira became one of Iran’s most outstanding directors.
