Grzegorz Welizarowicz

Grzegorz Welizarowicz was born in Gdansk on 17.02.1972. Bass player, guitarist, vocalist, drummer and actor.
Holding a PhD in Amrican Studies and working at the English Institute at the University of Gdansk, Poland. Has been playing and composing since the early 1990s. In 1993 co-founds EGO and alternative rock band in Gdansk. EGO debutes with a full album in 1997 the publish their only CD "Swiatowid" on Antena Krzyku UNC label. In 1994 co-founds MORDY and experimental rock band. They have published 4 Cds to date ("Normalforma", "Zapiski ze Strychu", "Of Fruits", "Antrology"). In 1998-1999 plays in Croffessima (with Tomasz Szwelnik, Tomasz Ballaun and Wojciech Michalowski). In 1998 joins Chlupot Mozgu - Jacek Staniszewsk´s experimental psychedelic rock band. In 2000/2001 studies with African Drums Master Nana Yaw Asiedu in San Diego, California. Since 2001 has played African drums with Larry Okey Ugwu´s Ikenga Drummers in Gdansk, Poland. In 2005 co-founds an experimental dance theater group Good Girl Killer. Has played with bands in Poland, Denmark, France, California. Since 1998 has regurally cooperated with dance theaters composing muisc for the following performances: Komedia w dawnym stylu albowiem nic sie nie zda-da-rza Dada von Bzdulov (Chlupot Mozgu); 1999, Apartament 001 Dada von Bzdulov (with Marcin Dymiter); premiere: january 2000, Nietota Dada von Bzdulov (with Datadisk, Ikenga, Mordy); july 2000, La Luta Continua by Anny Steller (with Datadisk), co-writer, premiere: december 2001; O! by Anna Steller and Milena Rewinska - co-composer (with Tomasz Bregmann), 2004. Good Girl Killer - Good Girl Killer (co-founder with Anna Steller, Magda Jedra, Zibi Bienkowski, 2005. His first solo record "Co nas laczy?" is to be published in late 2007.
