People in Opposition
Jorge Monrás was born in 1951 in Argentina where he received his art education before moving to Denmark. Apart from his work as an artist, Monrás is also an architect. He has participated in a number of one-man shows and group exhibitions in such countries as France, Germany, Scotland, Argentina and Denmark.
Monrás works often depict human bodies in cramped or crushing positions-such that it is apparent where they are and what they stnad for: people in opposition. His usuage of squares and fields in his pictures has the intention of collecting our disunity and confused reality into a greater wholeness.
