A citizen of cyberspace

Helen Varley Jamieson, Web Queen of the Magdalena Project, has a tendency to pop up all over the globe, both in flesh and virtually. A theatre practitioner since childhood, she currently experiments with cyberperformance-live performance that brings remote performers together via the internet-with her co-conspirators Avatar Body Collision. She has had three original plays professionally produced, has produced and directed others and has worked on a variety of artistic projects in various roles. To pay her way in life, she provides writing and project management services for the web, digital media and the arts. In previous lives she has been a student president, managed a women’s comedy group, taught web development, organised a women’s festival, worked in libraries and nursing homes, DJ’d on student radio, run a careers course, travelled widely and accidentally completed a BA in English and Drama.
